This access statement is designed to give you the information you need to assess how effectively we can meet your specific needs.
Prior to arrival
We do recommend calling or emailing us (01208 872223 or bookings@foweyvalleyhotel.co.uk) directly to make your booking, so that we are able to discuss your needs with you.
The hotel is located on the main A390 as you approach from Bodmin/Plymouth road and is a 2-minute walk from the town centre and our railway Station.
Arrival
A ramp is available at our front door.
Both of our car parks are only accessible by steps. The rear car park has 11 steps that are 4”/10cm deep, the overflow car park has 19 steps which are 6.75”/17cm deep.
Parking is free, as is our electric car charging point – which is situated in our overflow car park. Please note all vehicles must be registered at Reception, failure to do so may result in the owner receiving a parking charge notice.
The foyer floor is short pile carpeted and has no steps. Chairs and sofas are available in Reception if required.
Assistance with luggage to and from your room is always available, and this can be collected from/delivered to your vehicle also.
Lostwithiel train station is a 5-minute walk away with a small hill to negotiate. If you require a taxi to collect you please let us know and we will organise this for you.
Public Areas
Our bar and restaurant are both situated on the ground floor. Ladies, Gentlemen’s and an accessible unisex toilet are all located in the bar area on the ground floor.
Swimming Pool
Our Pool is surrounded by a wall and fencing for privacy & security. Access to the pool area is easiest through the restaurant and involves negotiating one doorstep (3.25”/8cm deep) and one small step (4”/10cm deep).
Access into the pool itself is via 5 steps rather than a ladder.
Accommodation
One specially adapted room is available on the ground floor of the hotel, please call 01208 872223 to confirm availability. This room can be converted to be either a doubled or twin-bedded room. The bathroom has a wet room style shower and an adapted shower chair is available for use. We can also supply a toilet frame should this be required.
We also have several other rooms on the ground floor which have walk-in showers
Assistance Dogs
Assistance dogs are welcomed and are permitted in any area of the hotel.
General
Please note that the hotel is not currently fitted with a hearing loop.
Menus and other literature are available in a larger font, should this be required.
During breakfast and dinner service low level music is played in the Restaurant.
